Coming Soon! The First Bat Detector Review Of 2014 The New BatSeeker 1

Im very happy to announce, the first bat detector of 2014 to be reviewed here on Bat Detector Reviews: Its a brand-new detector, from Batseeker

You may read more about it here (yes, its available from Amazon.com).
Just from what Ive learned so far, it sounds promising. Upon reading about this new unit, and its specifications  Seems it will fill in a gap, on "the list" of currently available, low-cost bat detectors.

Its a FD unit...uses 2 AAA batteries...and easily fits in your pocket. So far, so good.
And, at only $35 (US), it may make a good gift for the "budding Ecologist" on your list.

Additional info, from Batseeker: "The design of the Batseeker 1 was optimized for operation in the 2.0-2.8V range. We recommend Sanyo eneloop low self-discharge NiMH batteries. While the Batseeker 1 will still work with two standard 1.5 V nonrechargeable carbon-zinc batteries, the sensitivity wont be quite as good as it is with two 1.2V NiMH batteries. Rechargeable batteries are also better for the environment."

Happy bat detecting!
